Local hotel chain PrideInn has officially opened a new branch in Shanzu, North Coast of Mombasa. This is its 8th branch since the hotel began its operations in 2012.
The 137 rooms Flamingo by PrideInn Beach Resort and SPA comes in the wake of PrideInn’s strategic expansion plans which involves opening at least 10 hotels by 2021.
Managing Director Hasnain Noorani said the hotel would open new outlets in satellite towns and within major cities in the country to grow its branch count as well as creating new revenue streams. The hotel will at the same time explore new markets in the East African Community (EAC) economic block but most of the new facilities are expected to be in Kenya.
“Our expansion strategy is deeply rooted on two factors; first our hotels have to be affordable to a clientele with the spending power. A location has to be positioned strategically, to mean facilities have to be located in a tranquil area away from hustles and bustles of town and again accommodate Meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions (MICE) business,” he added.
PrideInn has continued to aggressively expand and invest in new hotels along the coast with plans to take the brand to new African countries in the long-term.
“We will be launching PrideInn Mombasa in CBD area along Haile Sellasie avenue in the next three weeks, we are at final stages of doing renovations,” said PrideInn Managing Director Hasnain Noorani.
These two new hotels will grow the hotel’s total facilities to eight, adding to the five in Mombasa and three in Nairobi.
PrideInn’s expansion in Mombasa county is a positive development in the hospitality industry which has in the past been heavily affected by terror threats, travel advisories and last years prolonged electioneering period.
PrideInn said it expects the hotel to continue benefitting from the tailwind of East Africa’s rapidly expanding middle class, increasing urbanization and leisure tourism.
